We all know the mom Wells by now, and she can not live without her Saturday itinerary! I am asked, texted, called, and left messages on my Jeep every morning till she gets one. So with that being said, I have officially changed our itinerary name to "Momma Wells' Time Keeper" it is enclosed in the tab "Show Itineraries"
This week we start the beginning of three weeks where the band is split for rehearsal. Monday is woodwinds only. Tuesday is Guard, Brass, and Percussion all with their own designated times. Woodwinds and brass will go form 5:30 to 8:30 on their respective days and Guard will go from 2:30 to 5:30 while the percussion will stay at the normal 6:00 to 9:00 time slot. The next two Wednesday's the hornline will stay after school for our "Choreography" session's with Derek from 2:45 to 4:45, and the full band this week will run the 2:45 to 4:45 on Thursday as well to accommodate for the performers at Fall Festival. Friday night we will have our annual "Lock-in" with rehearsal that evening being 8-11 and the "Lock-in" portion being from 11pm-8am Saturday morning. Information pertaining to the "Lock-in" will be included in a parent email. Saturday will be the annual "Fall Festival Parade" with members reporting at 11am and the parade starting at noon. All members will need to park on the side by the band trailer and enter through the loading double doors. After the parade all members will be shuttled back to the school from the end of the parade route to have lunch. At 2pm we will finish our week with a 2-5:30 practice and a public preview for all who would like to attend at 5:40. If the parade were to get rained out, we will make adjustments accordingly and will communicate via text and email. Enclosed in the show itinerary tab is a "Fall Festival" itinerary for this week, in that itinerary you will find all of this information broken down in an easy to follow time line!
What a great way to start our season! The rain held off, we got to see amazing rainbows all the way down to Salem, and the "Virus" was unveiled to the world! Thank you to all parents and volunteers that helped get the first step started and going as always we would not be near as successful as we are without your amazing help and support! The band had about as good as first week showing as possible. I would like to congratulate Mr Luke Alysworth and the Springs Valley Blackhawk Brigade on a great performance and a sweepstake's win! I would also like to thank the volunteers and Miss Bonnie Harmon director of bands at Salem on putting on a great contest!
Itinerary for Salem is listed under the "Forms, Itineraries etc." on the left tab. Your student will need snacks, water and sack lunch/dinner for food for the day. I hope you are as excited to start this season as myself and the staff are! Let's have a great turn out in Salem and cheer on and celebrate the hard work our "E" family has been involved in!
Due to Fall Festival performances on Thursday the 17th we will be changing our practice schedule for that Thursday and Friday. We will have after school music on that Thursday and full band practice 5-8 on Friday. The calendar has been updated and is current. Please also take note that the week of the 14th we start with split brass and woodwind practices. They also start at 5:30 and go to 8:30 unlike the normal 6-9. Thank you!

Next Friday, August 21st will be Senior night for all Senior band members at the home football game. I have not received all the information about this yet, but, would assume that you will need to arrive to the North End zone in the stadium at around 6:00pm. I will pass on more information as soon as I receive it.

We will meet at 8am in the auditorium at EHS to get ready to leave for Holiday World. We will depart at 8:15am and be back around 9pm. The trip will cost $40.00 and will cover ticket and transportation.
We made it officially through day 2 unscathed. There were no storms, no tornado warnings just lots of working, there was also a special group of dinner servers who served the parents! The opener is starting to come together and the kids are doing great! Our award winners for day two were:

Rain, and the threat of tornadoes could not stop us! We got through day one and put a large chunk of Virus on the field with music! The kids did an amazing job fighting through adversity with the weather and started camp off on a great start. As always the parents made the experience even better by have the most wonderful "Hello Kitty" themed dinner! Our award recipients for the day were:

This Sunday at 12:00pm we will start loading to get ready for our 2015 season band camp at Depauw University in Greencastle Indiana. We will load from 12:30-2:30 and leave at 2:28 for camp. You will be able to find all information regarding camp on our forms page. There will be a parent preview at Depauw on Thursday evening at approximately 8pm in the track and field/tennis facility all are welcome and encouraged to come up during the week and see what our kids are hard at work on!

Jazz I will be taking the EHS Auditorium stage this Sunday, May 31st at 2pm to present their final 2015 concert. This concert will showcase various selections from throughout the year and several new charts. Admission will be donations only, so please come and share the hard work that these musicians have put in over the year!

Tomorrow we will be presenting our second annual Spring Showcase! We will start serving food at 4:30 and this will continue till 7:30. Tickets are still available and are $8.00 for dinner and performances. The performance schedule will be as follows...

All performing members need to arrive at 3:30 to set up and will be dismissed at 8:30 after clean up. Jazz I members will assist in the cafeteria from 4:00 to 6:00. Jazz II members will assist in the cafeteria from 6:00 to 8:00.
Tuesday May 26th at 7pm the High School Wind Ensemble will be performing with the Junior High accelerated band in the EHS Auditorium. Cost will be $3.00 per person and $9.00 max for family. 5 and under are free!
