State Finals Week!

Well, the week and the moment that we have been working towards since June has now come upon us.  SAVOR every moment!  The itinerary for Saturday is up...YES it is early, but, that is just the breaks of going on early this year.  With the Indianapolis Marathon being ran that day, we have to be very precise on time and be in the LOS lot a tad earlier than desired.  This does mean a 3:30AM call to school...YES THAT IS IN THE MORNING...we will have just enough time to warm up, and run the show, then load and leave...We will have tickets on sale at the school bookstore and after all practices.  They are $20.00 for adults and $18.00 for students, tickets are general admission and I would ask that we try to be as close to a group as possible, being the second band on I don't think we will have to big of a problem achieving this feat!  Please take time and go through the State Finals Packet that is enclosed forms page  and look at all the wonderful maps they have sent.  With the Marathon being ran there will be roads shut down throughout the morning.  Follow the Marathon route to see what roads you can travel on and when.  With that being said, I will be around all week to answer questions about the week.

Rain Rain...Is NOT Going Away...

It is looking like 100% chance of rain from now until tomorrow afternoon.  As you know, children can and do melt, so we are trying to keep this from happening!  Tonight we have rehearsal scheduled from 5-9pm.  With the outlook of melting children we are going to cut our practice short tonight at 7:30pm and pick up this time Friday.  We are at the point of the year where we need time on the move! Times for Friday will be 3:30 to 7:00...I know this does add some problems and I am sorry, but, we are in the home stretch of our season and need absolutely the most time we can have to be outside marching and playing.  If there are any questions or problems please let me know ASAP!

Semi-State @ Decatur Central

Well, this is the part of the year that really gets fun!  Saturday we will be traveling to Decatur Central to perform in the ISSMA Semi-State contest.  We will need to be in the top 10 of 20 to advance on to the ISSMA State Finals in Lucas Oil.  Karen's Time Keeper and the full line up for the day have been posted and the boosters will be feeding the members breakfast before we leave!  This will be a big day for the band and one that we have been working towards since June!   There will be a celebration after we get home in the auxiliary gym to have pizza and cake and reflect on our hard work for the season, we will also use this time to recognize our senior members!

Saturday!

This Saturday we will have practice from 8-1 with a final run being at 1pm if you are interested in coming to watch the show!  There will be a small food break in the middle so your student will need to bring a small meal along with his or her snacks.  Also if there are any students or parents that would like to go to finals Saturday night, I have 20 tickets for sale at 10.00.

BOA Times Are Posted!

Parents, the "Momma Wells Time Keeper" for Friday has been posted!  The students will have the option of grabbing "A" lunch and eating in the band room or bringing their own.  Yes we will go to Circle Center Mall after we are done and thhey will get dinner there.  Junior High members will be picked up by me in a activity bus and brought over to the high school I will get them at 10:50 in the Junior High Band Room.  Mr. Hite and Mr. Koehler know the drill.  The major change is that we will need to be at the high school early on Friday morning.  I know there are a lot of students that ride the bus that morning, so please seek alternate rides that morning and if there are still major problems please let me know ASAP!  Thank you again for all that you do!

REGIONALS!!!

Times for ISSMA Regionals at Center Grove have been posted and sent.  It is a early one!  But, should be a very good gauge for us and State Finals morning...
